Develop skills to create a safer workplace

Geapslogo

Are you looking for basic safety information on the grain industry? GEAPS 540: Entry Level Safety will help you develop skills to create a safer workplace for yourself and your coworkers.

This online course from the GEAPS/Kansas State University Distance Education Program identifies the main risks of working in the industry. Lectures address essential precautions and why you need to learn and follow company and facility safety and health policies.

“I took GEAPS 540 when I was new to the industry and needed an overview of important safety issues,” said Corey Bumgardner, elevator superintendent, Ardent Mills. “It helped me understand what we have to deal with from a safety aspect, and how to balance safety with daily production.”

This course is one of six courses required for the Credential in Grain Operations Management. Three additional courses are also available in October.
