The Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) is now accepting applications for the Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship and the Harold Reese Memorial Scholarship. These scholarships provide educational support to industry professionals and students, with the application deadline set for Tuesday, April 30.

Award recipients will be announced on GEAPS’ social media channels and in an upcoming issue of In-Grain. The funds are designated for the 2024-25 academic year and can be used for tuition, books, and fees at accredited institutions.

Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship

Named after Henry H. Kaufmann, GEAPS’ International President from 1974-75 and treasurer until 1980, the Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship aims to enhance professionals’ versatility in the workplace by eliminating language barriers. This scholarship is particularly focused on supporting language education and is open to students attending institutions both in and outside the United States, provided the foreign institution’s language program is affiliated with an accredited U.S. school. Applications are accepted every spring, and awards are made each summer. Selection criteria include the candidate's commitment to their career goals and the relevance of the proposed course of study.

Harold Reese Memorial Scholarship

The Harold Reese Memorial Scholarship, named after GEAPS' president from 1995-96, is open to both industry professionals and students. This scholarship offers financial aid to those participating in the GEAPS Training and Education program or studying grain-related fields at other schools. Scholarships will be granted based on qualifications and will be paid directly to educational institutions accredited by the United States Department of Education. The scholarship covers tuition and book expenses.

These scholarships represent GEAPS’ commitment to supporting education and professional development in the grain industry, fostering the next generation of industry leaders and experts. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply before the April 30 deadline for an opportunity to advance their educational and professional goals.
