Suction Aeration: A Better Way to Manage Pests

Research shows pulling air down through bins cools grain faster, significantly reducing pest populations in wheat.

Under the right circumstances, using suction aeration may be the difference between high quality grain and rejected grain. Over the years, the method has undeservingly made a bad name for itself, but research clearly shows that when done with properly designed and managed equipment, it is more effective at minimizing insect pests in wheat than the standard pressure aeration technique.
