The Hemp Feed Coalition (HFC) will be submitting an application this summer to get approval for the use of hemp seed, meal and cake as protein supplements for use in the diets of layers and broilers chickens.
Hemp products are not currently approved for use in animal feed in the U.S. HFC, however, says large scale production of hemp will create by-products that are nutrious and valuable as animal feed ingredients.
